And in this confidence I was minded to come unto you before, that ye might have a second benefit;

  1. For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;
  2. But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power.
  3. And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.
  4. And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.
  5. We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
  6. And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith; That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again.
