2 Chronicles 6:29

Then what prayer or what supplication soever shall be made of any man, or of all thy people Israel, when every one shall know his own sore and his own grief, and shall spread forth his hands in this house:

  4. And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
  5. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
  6. Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
  7. The heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy.
  8. And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.
