1 Thessalonians 5:15

See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

  9. Whoso rewardeth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house.
  10. Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee.
  11. Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:
  12. Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.
  13. If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:
  14. But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
  15. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
  16. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
  17. Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
  18. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
  19. Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
  20. Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?
  21. Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.
  22. Now if Timotheus come, see that he may be with you without fear: for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do.
  23. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
  24. Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
  25. That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.
  26. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
  27. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
  28. To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
  29. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
  30. Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
  31. Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.
  32. Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
  33. Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?
  34. Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
  35. And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
  36. Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
