1 Peter 2:21

For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

  2. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
  3. These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
  4. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
  5. For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

  8. Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
  9. Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.
  10. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
  11. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
  12. And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.
  13. And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?
  14. If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
  15. Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
  16. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
  17. For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.
  18. Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.
  19. Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
  20. And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
  21. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
  22. That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto.
  23. For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
  24. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
  25. For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
  26. Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
  27. Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
  28. Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
  29. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
