1 Peter 1:22

Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

  9. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
  10. These things I command you, that ye love one another.
  11. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
  12. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
  13. And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.
  14. And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
  15. By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
  16. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
  17. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
  18. By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned,
  19. Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
  20. And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;
  21. And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:
  22. He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit. But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
  23. We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;
  24. But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
  25. As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,
  26. Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
  27. The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.
  28. That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.
  29. And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
  30. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
  31. How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
  32. By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
  33. If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
  34. Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
  35. And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
  36. For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
  37. And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
  38. For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
  39. We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
  40. And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
  41. Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
  42. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
  43. Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
